  • Bakery 105 Wedding Photographers | Callie & Seth

To wrap up my 2024 season, I finished off the year photographing the wedding of Callie and Seth at the end of December. They chose Bakery 105 in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina to host their wedding, and it’s one of my top favorite venues to work in, so I was happy to be back again. I initially had closed off my bookings for the rest of the year when Callie reached out, and I told them I was fully booked for the year, but then the way they spoke about my work made me feel like they totally GOT ME, and valued my work, and that is literally what I look for in an ideal client. I couldn’t help but want to work with these two, and then when I met with them for engagement photos, I knew I made the right choice. Sometimes you just bond with a couple and your energies work so well together. Callie and Seth are so fun to be around, and they threw one heck of a wedding. I LOOOOOVED the winter decor, it just so happened to be a freakishly warm day at the end of December, which no one anticipated, but we got a beautiful, sunny, 70 degree day, for their “winter wonderland” themed wedding! It was gorgeous. One thing I always get so grump about at Bakery 105 is when a couple has to rent a huge tent to cover the patio if it looks like there’s any chance of rain in the forecast. But when I showed up to see the huge, clear tent complete with twinkle lights and a chandelier, I was over the moon. A clear tent lets in all the natural light, a photographer’s dream, and it doesn’t hide the gorgeous ivy covered brick walls at Bakery! It looked SO GOOD – especially at night ones everything was all lit up! This dance party quite literally never stopped, to the point of everyone just being totally soaked with sweat, and it was so much fun. Thankful I accepted this wedding when I almost didn’t, and thankful I had such a blast with these two at the end of a busy season. Congrats to Callie and Seth!!!!!!!!

  • The Atrium by Ligon Flynn Wedding Photographers | Kaitlin & Jose

The Atrium by Ligon Flynn is this absolutely perfect little outdoor venue located in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. It’s nestled right into the hustle and bustle of historic downtown, but I describe it as a secret garden. With ivy climbing up all the walls, an open ceiling to see the sky during your ceremony, and a beautiful covered area for the reception. No matter where you stand inside of the Atrium you’re surrounded by greenery and hanging lights. It’s a VIBE, y’all. There are many reasons as to why it’s my favorite venue in Wilmington. (Not to mention the best staff, okay!!!) So, when Kaitlin and Jose started talking to me about photographing their wedding, I was so excited, for so many reasons. I’ve known these two for a few years now so I was so happy to be involved in their day, and when I got to meet their dogs at their engagement session and they told me they’d be at the wedding, I knew I’d be in for a great day. I can’t explain how amazing these two humans are. The way that Jose looks at Kaitlin (and cries. A lot) is so heartwarming. You can feel the love in the room. Their families surrounded them with so much support and so much joy. I loved the speeches that their parents gave, and learning about each of their sweet families. Being part of days like this is why I keep going. Thank you for being yourselves, Kaitlin and Jose, and for making my job so easy because your love was so easy to capture on camera. I’m not exaggerating when I say they made it hard for me to keep photographing at times because my eyes were too full of tears of joy. Grateful for these two, for a beautiful day, and I can’t wait to watch their beautiful life unfold from here. Congrats to Kaitlin and Jose!!!!!!! Okay now please go look at how cute their dogs are!!!!!

  • Wilmington NC Wedding Photographers | Haley & Andy

Every time I book a wedding with a client who plans their own backyard wedding, I never know what to expect. I had met Haley and Andy when they attended a wedding I had photographed in the past, so I knew we would have fun either way. But when I arrived on the morning of Haley and Andy’s wedding day to her parent’s gorgeous home in historic downtown Wilmington, I was blown away. A stunning backyard full of obviously a very well taken care of garden, bar area, the perfect spot for a ceremony and a reception. It was perfect. A small wedding, super intimate with just the people they were closest with, a food truck for dinner (which was INCREDIBLE by the way), never ending craft cocktails (curated by the bride’s father!), and a dance party that just couldn’t quit. We had perfect weather, the best wedding party, and so much fun. This is one of those days that I could relive over and over again. Wishing you two the happiest of lives together, and I can’t wait to see what comes next in your story!

  • Wrightsville Manor Wedding Photographers | Nia & Chris

Words are hard to describe this wedding day as I look back at some of my favorite images from the day. Nia and Chris selected the epic Wrightsville Manor as their wedding venue – and they decorated it in one of my FAVORITE ways I’ve ever seen. Wrightsville Manor is one of our most popular wedding venues in Wilmington, North Carolina, so when someone shocks you with their decor there – you know it’s gonna be good. This place is so great because it comes with a bridal suite on the property, as well as unlimited beautiful backdrops for portraits on every side of this building. They went with a dark and moody vibe for their wedding day – tons of candlelight, black tablescapes, they had magnolia leaves everywhere, and I can’t write this blog post without at least mentioning Nia’s dress. It was one of my favorite and most unique dresses I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Not only was it stunning on its own, but it was like it was meant for Nia. The detachable “cape” as we jokingly called it (basically an alternative to a veil) – was one of my favorite parts, along with the beading on the entire dress. Wow wow wow. Anyway, these two threw such an amazing day, but that wasn’t even the best part. The best part was working with Nia and Chris all day. Their love was so genuine, and their vows really showed that off, and I can’t stop thinking about the way that they treated each other. They are GOALS. I’m very grateful to have had the chance to document their big day. I literally miss it already!

  • Ironclad Brewery Wedding Photographers | Kailie & Dan

Kailie & Dan got married at the end of October at Ironclad Brewery in Downtown Wilmington. They chose the perfect venue for their very alternative wedding – Kailie wore a black dress (IT WAS STUNNING) and while it wasn’t a Halloween THEME, it was a total vibe. From the invitations to the guest appearance by a random person downtown dressed at ghost face from Scream, to the breathtaking florals and the pure joy felt all around the room. The amount of tears that occurred during the ceremony was so heartwarming, and their families were so kind and supportive. It was a great day. They ended the evening with a two hour non-stop dance party (shout out Active DJ for killing it AS ALWAYS) which resulted in the most fun and sweaty mess. Honestly? Sign me up for more weddings in this style. It goes so well with my photo style and Kailie and Dan are my kinda humans. Can we do it again now???

  • Slate & Cypress Wedding Photographers | Madison & Griffin

A little taste of European vibes in North Carolina, Slate and Cypress is a gorgeous venue tucked away an hour outside of Wilmington. I love a venue where you can stay in the same location from morning mimosas to the sparkler exit at the end of the night, and Slate and Cypress has just that. Their outdoor area is stunning for your ceremony and cocktail hour, and a nice, open, well-lit interior for the reception. Madison and Griffin planned the most gorgeous wedding day in mid-October, with the PERFECT weather, and some of my favorite colors this year! They were SO much fun to work with, their huge smiles never faltered all day, and I can’t even begin to describe the dance party. There was crowd surfing, there was plenty of falling over from dancing too hard, there was so much laughter. I loved this crew. Okay enough of my rambling – check out the highlights from Madison and Griffin’s wedding day!

  • 128 South Wedding Photographers | Jamison & Andy

128 South is a gorgeous event venue located right in the heart of historic downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. It has a great indoor space for dinner, and an outdoor patio that faces the river for both ceremony, and reception. They have in-house catering which, if I do say so myself, is one of the best. And I eat a lot of wedding food! So I was VERY happy when Jamison and Andy chose 128 South for their wedding day, and hired me to go along with it! I met these two out at Carolina Beach on a beautiful evening for engagement photos at sunset with the ocean. I knew immediately these two were my vibe – maybe it was their adorable dogs, maybe it was the way these two were just overjoyed to marry each other. That feeling didn’t go away when it came to wedding day – their smiles were literally SO BIG Andy kept asking me if he was smiling too big, and in my opinion? There’s no such thing. When your new wife makes you smile that big, I think you did something right. These two were so easy to work with and so much fun, and they planned the most beautiful day. So lucky to get to work with couples like Andy and Jamison, and so excited to see what comes next in their love story!

  • Masonboro Island & The Elia Wedding Photographers | Colleen & Clay

Colleen and Clay decided to have a private wedding ceremony out on Masonboro Island, a few days before their full sized wedding reception held at The Elia, in downtown Wilmington, NC. This was so much fun to be able to be there for both days, you really get to know the couple, their closest friends and family, and it was a blast both days. The island ceremony was small, sunny, and so beautiful. We all boated out to Masonboro and witnessed them telling each other “I do.” Then a couple days later, they had a wedding reception downtown and danced the night away. I loved their decor, their dance party, and their entire vibe. This is my kind of wedding!!!! Yes, I am accepting ALL island weddings. Always. Congrats Colleen and Clay!!!!! I’m so happy for you guys!

  • The Isles Beach Club Wedding Photographer | Meghan & Branden

Meg and Branden chose The Isles Beach Club in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina for their wedding day. I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous day for them, and we ended up with a nice cloudy and warm day in October for a beach wedding. Summer beach wedding days can be brutal in the heat, so October is a MUCH more pleasant time of year. The cloud coverage helped us achieve some ideal lighting and nice calm weather after a very stormy September. A couple deer showed up for the wedding ceremony, which I had never seen happen at the beach, before! It was so cute! I loved the vintage wedding cake and the funky bright colored candles on the tables at the reception, and oooooh the dance party. These people had me scream-singing with them all night long. I loved this day, and this couple was just so much fun. Now check out some highlights from their day!

  • Wrightsville Manor Wedding Photographers | Morgan & Connor

Morgan and Connor chose the gorggggggg Wrightsville Manor for their wedding on an absolutely perfect sunny day in October. Wrightsville Manor is known for its beautiful greenery and my favorite: the giant oak tree to have your ceremony under. The indoor area has crisp white walls, lots of natural light, and is the perfect blank canvas to add your own personal touch to make it your own. I think one of my favorite parts of their decor was their florals, they were the best fall colors with tons of texture, it went SO WELL with the location, and the bridesmaid dresses! Morgan and Connor are full of life and energy and they were SO EXCITED to marry each other, it was pure joy to be around them. I looooove how they brought their dogs to walk down the aisle too (and kept trying to play with me during the ceremony LOL), so naturally we included them in a bunch of our portraits too. And then there was the dance party. I can’t even describe it, it was so energetic and fun all night long. Talk about a group of friends/family to hype you up – every single person got out on the dance floor and they danced until the lights came on at the end of the night. Something they did differently than other weddings that I LOVED was instead of doing a bouquet and garter toss, they had t-shirts that they tossed out to their guests instead! Some of the bridesmaids wore them all night over their dresses and it was so fun! Moral of the story: be like Morgan and Connor. Their smiles are contagious and their love was so easy to capture on camera. Now go look at all my favorite photos from the day!
