My first beach wedding to photograph of the season – and I got to venture out to the always stunning Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. Just an hour south of Wilmington, full of big, beautiful beach houses to rent out that can hold 40+ people, they’re the perfect setting for a laid back beach wedding day. Luxury Lodging by Laura is a WONDERFUL rental company with multiple homes to choose from, and I’ve gotten to work at a lot of them for wedding days and I love each one!! This one (Once Upon a Tide) is definitely a favorite. It’s also got a whooooole lot of covered areas in case of poor weather, but luckily, we didn’t need it for this day! But it was still great to have shade from a warm and sunny day.
Cari and Alex chose this beautiful spot to host their wedding day. These two were such a joy to spend the day with. Their friends were such a blast, their family was so kind to me, everyone was so welcoming. I don’t know… there’s just something about a beach wedding that gives the best vibes. It’s hard to feel stressed with the sand between your toes.
I really enjoyed this group, and their dance party to end the night did not disappoint. Truthfully most weddings the guests all start leaving slowly after dinner until there’s only a handful of people left, but not for Cari and Alex. Every guest was still there dancing their hearts out until the moment I pulled away, and I LOVED IT. No shortage of epic dance party photos to make you laugh out loud as you click through. Congrats to Cari and Alex! Thank you so much for having me!! Now here are some highlights from their big day:
