  • Farmville Depot Wedding Photographers | MK & Roger

Sometimes, you meet a client that as soon as you interact in person (typically at engagement photos), you just CLICK. This was MK for me. Her personality and mine were just so similar, I forgot I was doing a job and felt like I was just hanging out with a friend. As soon as she described her vision for her wedding day, I knew it was going to be perfect for me. Vivid colors, black and white checkered designs, disco balls, bold flowers. I WAS IN HEAVEN. Now add in a Colombian groom who also incorporated the most DELICIOUS food ever at a wedding – a whole Colombian buffet. I ate arepas and rice and beans and avocado and I truly felt like I was back in Colombia for the first time. And OF COURE MK added on the 35mm film package because – why wouldn’t she. We are the same. And she loves the quality of film, just like I do. These two had a sweet church ceremony, followed by their reception at Farmville Depot, which I had never been to before, but LOVED it! A big old warehouse building full of string lights and don’t forget the ice cream truck after dinner! MK & Roger – you were a JOY to work with, and I love your love. Thank you for having Erin and I be there as part of your special day! I wish we could do it again next week.

  • Washington DC Wedding Photographer | District Winery

One of my favorite things about my job is being able to travel for work. So when this couple found me online – simply because I have worked at this venue before even though I’m located in Wilmington, NC – they decided to fly me to Washington, DC anyway for their wedding day! They told me point blank, even with my travel fee, I am still more affordable than a local DC photographer, and I’m truly only an hour and a half flight away, so I am HAPPY to travel to DC for weddings.

This couple asked me to remain anonymous and not have their portraits and names posted online due to the political nature of their jobs – which is ALWAYS okay to ask for, by the way. Obviously I would prefer to be able to share all of the beautiful images of the day, but I respect my clients’ wishes if they ask for this! They gave me permission to share the decor and details from their day, though. So that is what I will do! Please enjoy the STUNNING District Winery, located in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, DC. Easily a favorite place of mine, and I would like to return again soon!!

  • The Atrium Wedding Photographers | Chandler & Devin

Chandler and Devin got married at The Atrium in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina this May. The Atrium is located right in the middle of historic downtown, just two blocks from the River front, nestled into the most beautiful sunshine filled courtyard just absolutely crawling with greenery. This is my favorite venue to photograph in for a REASON! I call it my favorite little secret garden. So I was very happy when Chandler and Devin booked me for their day! These two were just such a pleasure to work with. They are two very calm and quiet and grounded individuals. On a day full of chaos, I would see them whispering to each other and just being so at peace and so happy together. That’s actually hard to come by on a wedding day – peace! So it was incredibly refreshing to see. They added on my favorite: the 35mm film package. So if you keep scrolling, you’ll see some highlights via film, too! The most beautiful, coastal chic wedding vibe. I loved every detail!

  • Wrightsville Beach & Bluewater Grill Wedding Photography | Ashley & Kevin

I had the lucky job of spending the day with Ashley and Kevin as they said their vows to each other on an absolutely perfect and sunny May afternoon at Wrightsville Beach. Their ceremony was the sweetest beach front setup, followed by a reception at the always beautiful (and delicious) Bluewater Grill. Ashley and Kevin incorporated theses fun and artistic details into their wedding day like a hand drawn (by Kevin) and watercolor painted (by Ashley) emblem with their initials on it that they had on their invitations, on their stamps, and even on their cups at the reception! Their seating chart at the reception was one of my favorites as well, with individual hand painted names written on shells from the beach. I love working with brides (or grooms!) that have an art background, it really shows in the tiny little details of the day and it makes it so fun for me to capture!!

Another fun thing they did was bury a bottle of bourbon (that isn’t even being release for another two years) one month before their wedding date at their ceremony site and dug it up right after the reception. Southern folklore says that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the site where the bride and groom are to be married it won’t rain on their wedding day. According to many believers, this must be done exactly one month before the wedding, the bottle must be completely full, and it must be buried upside down to ensure maximum weather persuasion.

These two were a blast to work with and their dance party all night was so FUN to watch – they used glow stick foam bats for their grand exit at the end of the night but they brought them out on the dance floor before that, which really made for some hilarious pictures. Also, bonus, they made their getaway out onto a boat! I can say that one’s a first for me! So unique! I’m so happy to have gotten to be a part of their day – wishing you two forever love and happiness together!!

  • The Barn at Rock Creek Wedding Photography | Caitlin & Michael

Calling this wedding a blast wouldn’t even begin to describe the night I had with Caitlin and Michael. This was one of the most epic dance parties I’ve ever experienced, including Caitlin being hoisted into the air by her friends multiple times. They had incredible, hand picked details, gorgeous floral centerpieces, one of the most colorful fall ceremonies, and so much love it had me smiling the whole time I worked on these photos. They have such a fun kind of love, you can’t help but want to be around them! They danced, they laughed, and they even let me take them into the woods for some gorgeous photos as the sun set and the super moon came out. I love to be a part of weddings that are filled with so much joy, and this one exceeded all expectations! Congrats to the happy couple, now check out the highlights from their big day!
