This was my very first time traveling to Washington, DC. And I literally couldn’t think of a better reason to go. Jackie and Beecher found me online while they were planning their wedding day, and decided I was the right fit to bring to DC with them for their day! First of all, what a huge compliment that is. Second of all, I’m so glad they did, because they were two of the best people I could have asked to work with. Not only were they kind and sweet and down to earth, but they also designed the most gorgeous wedding that I was literally giddy to photograph. DC itself was stunning, but the Navy Yard where the wedding took place was SO unique. Water views, dogs everywhere, city scapes, cool bridges, I had no shortage of epic locations for photos. And then the venue itself, District Winery, was quite literally a dream. They transformed it with vivid pink flowers and something around 75 disco balls on the ceiling, I was in photo heaven. Grateful for opportunities like this one that let me travel to cool places, and work with the absolute best people. Thank you for having me, Jackie and Beecher, you sure throw one heck of a party! Can’t wait to see what you two do next!

I had the pleasure of photographing Jennifer & Zach’s gorgeous March wedding at Slate & Cypress in Calabash, North Carolina. These two were just such a joy to work with, and their bridal party was the most fun and supportive and energetic group EVER. Jennifer and Zach also added on my 35mm film package which just so happens to be my absolute favorite thing, and I am beyond thrilled with how all of the film images turned out. I love getting to work at Slate & Cypress because this venue is already so stunning on it’s own, but the owners are always working so hard to constantly improve it, so there’s always something new and exciting to utilize for photos every time I’m there! This time, a brand new arbor was set up for ceremonies, and they’re working on growing tons of new greenery after winter is finally ending, so it’s just going to keep getting EVEN prettier! I think my favorite thing about this day other than how amazing everyone was to work with, was definitely Jenn’s dress. I mean, those sleeves, are you kidding me??? Literally so stunning. On a vividly chilly weekend in Wilmington, North Carolina, it actually got cold enough to frost outside! So cold that it froze the fountain in front of Malachi Meadows, which I had never seen before! It really made for such a funny story, and I will forever laugh when I think about us standing outside in the cold, trying to take photos while the poor bridal party froze their booties off, all of us screaming and laughing together because that kind of cold is so uncommon here. It didn’t stop us from having the best time ever, of course. My two favorite parts of the wedding were Amanda and Cameron’s DOGS!!!! They hung out with us all day and were quite the source of entertainment, including Malakai crying for the entire ceremony. SO CUTE. These two are absolutely my kind of people, to the point where I was actually so sad to say goodbye at the end of the night. If I could copy + paste them, and get to work with them every single weekend, I would. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day, and I can’t wait until I get to see you guys again!!!
