My favorite part of being a wedding photographer full time is that I never do the same thing twice. Sure, I take ring photos at every wedding, I do couples portraits at every wedding, but no two weddings are the same. No two couples are the same. Everyone’s relationship is different and everyone’s wedding plans are completely unique to them. Megan and Kevin’s wedding day was exactly this – it was THEM! Small, intimate, and only their closest people were there with them as they said “I do.” I love small weddings like this one, it gives you the entire day to spend with the people you love the most, instead of being swarmed by 250 people trying to say hello to all of them before the day is done. Megan and Kevin and I were able to sneak away at sunset and recite their vows in private, and I think there’s nothing more romantic or more personal than that. Grateful to couples like this one for trusting me with their big day, for being so much fun and so easy to work with, and for being SO ADORABLY IN LOVE. I had the absolute best time. When one of your closest friends wants to book you for their wedding day in the backyard of their parents home in Wilmington, NC, you don’t hesitate, you say YES. It’s really hard to know what to expect when someone tells you they’re planning a wedding in their backyard, so Jana and her mom had me out to show me around the property before the big day. I have to say, this was no regular backyard wedding. The property was EPIC, the vendors they hired were INCREDIBLE, and it all came together so well. I loved every single detail down to each flower, Jana’s wedding ring (I mean, wow), and it was by far one of the most fun receptions I’ve ever been to. Not only were there choreographed dances, endless amounts of champagne (with flavors you could drop in!), a food truck for dinner with multiple options, but it was also just an absolute blast, and yes, there were even puppies. I knew it would be, since Jana is easily one of my most hilarious friends. Watching her get to marry Matt was so special. He’s an amazing human, and the way he loves my friend and her daughter is SO heartwarming. We won’t talk about the part in his vows that were for Hayden. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house! Thank you both for letting me be part of your special day, for letting me switch into guest-mode at the reception, and for literally just trusting me to do my thing. WHAT A DAY!

Emma and Kyle got married in Danville, Virginia in September. I met these two in Wilmington awhile back when they found me online and decided to get some couples photos done together while they were on vacation. Shortly after our photos, he proposed! I honestly saw it coming after I met them, because of the way they acted around each other. And I’m so happy Emma reached out again and asked if I would travel to Virginia for their big day. They had originally planned a big wedding at a local brewery, and with covid, decided it best to celebrate with only those closest to them, and moved their wedding to Emma’s parents backyard! I’ve always been a fan of a backyard wedding, and this one did not disappoint. These two have so much fun together and it’s so apparent when you spend time with them. I love their energy and their love and in my opinion, it was the absolute perfect day. Thank you both so much for having me and CONGRATS!!!
