  • The Barn at Rock Creek Wedding Photographer | Kim & John

I remember the first emails I exchanged with Kim, before we ever met, and I just KNEW she was the perfect bride for me to work with. She’s just the absolute sweetest human I could ever hope for, and when I met up with her and John to discuss their wedding plans – it was clear that these two were meant to be together. As we got ready for their “first look” on their wedding day, the nerves were high and the excitement was even higher. I’ll never get over the way John looks at her! What we thought was going to be a full day of rain, turned out to be just the best day. The rain finished up in the morning, giving us the rest of the day to enjoy their outdoor wedding, while they danced and laughed the night away with their closest family and friends. I will be forever grateful that Kim found me!!!! Now check out some of my very favorite images from their wedding day – and my last wedding of 2020!

  • Kure Beach Elopement Photographer | Samantha & Josh

Samantha and Josh had other plans for their wedding day, and then 2020 happened, and they had to roll with the punches. I think they did a pretty good job on a Plan B, by inviting only a handful of immediate family and friends out to Kure Beach to watch them elope in front of the ocean, and then have a small reception outside of a beach house. I had so much fun with these two as we wandered the beach and got some of the BEST portraits, and shout out to the weather for being AMAZING and giving us the best sunshine and the best sunset. So grateful to have been a part of this day! Congrats to Samantha & Josh!!!

  • Wrightsville Manor Wedding Photographer | Tania & Matt

2020 has been a wild year, and we’ve all lost a lot of our original plans, especially those of you planning weddings. But every now and then, you end up having one of the BEST NIGHTS EVER, and everything comes together just right. It may not have been the full guest count, it may have been moved all outdoors and risked having bad or cold weather, BUT, it still ends up being absolutely perfect. This was one of those weddings. Tania and Matt got married at Wrightsville Manor surrounded by their closest loved ones. If I could write down all the things that I want in a client, Tania and Matt would be exactly that. They were so much fun, they were so laid back, so genuine, they trusted every vendor completely, and they were just an absolute joy to work with. Not only that, but their decor was one of my FAVORITES this year. Their table settings were themed after their favorite books and movies, including, of course, my favorite, Harry Potter! When you tell someone that you’re having Harry Potter themes in your wedding, most people would question that idea because it could be really cheesy. But the way they worked with their florist and event planners (shout out to Designs by Dillon and Bubbly Events) to incorporate those ideas into elegant and classy table settings, was incredible! Hands down one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen at a wedding. But maybe I’m biased. :)

After a beautiful ceremony, everyone danced all night long outside at Wrightsville Manor under a tent of twinkle lights and an EXCELLENT DJ playing all the right music. I wish every wedding day was just like this one. I’m so happy I was able to be a part of it and work with such an awesome couple and such an amazing team of vendors. Thanks for still bringing nights like this, 2020! Congratulations Matt & Tania!!!!

  • Virginia Backyard Wedding Photographer | Emma & Kyle

Emma and Kyle got married in Danville, Virginia in September. I met these two in Wilmington awhile back when they found me online and decided to get some couples photos done together while they were on vacation. Shortly after our photos, he proposed! I honestly saw it coming after I met them, because of the way they acted around each other. And I’m so happy Emma reached out again and asked if I would travel to Virginia for their big day. They had originally planned a big wedding at a local brewery, and with covid, decided it best to celebrate with only those closest to them, and moved their wedding to Emma’s parents backyard! I’ve always been a fan of a backyard wedding, and this one did not disappoint. These two have so much fun together and it’s so apparent when you spend time with them. I love their energy and their love and in my opinion, it was the absolute perfect day. Thank you both so much for having me and CONGRATS!!!

  • Watermark Marina Wedding Photography | Mary & Ben

See the published article about this wedding on Wedding Wire HERE.

Mary and Ben are a couple I’ve been lucky enough to get to know as I’ve made myself a new home here in Wilmington. They were one of my first couples to take a chance on me, and one of the first that I photographed here. Not only did they take me by boat to Masonboro Island for their engagement session, but they also won me over with their incredibly fun and laid back personalities. They’ve made me feel so much more like a friend than someone they simply hired to be at their wedding.

These two had a beautiful ceremony on the end of a pier at the Watermark Marina, surrounded by a bright yellow sunset, family, friends, and everyone that cares about them the most. Their reception was just a walk back down the pier, with an indoor/outdoor seating area and all the twinkle lights my little heart could hope for. The dinner was an elaborate taco bar, followed by SO MANY DONUTS. Some of my favorite wedding food ever, might I add. The drinks flowed, the dancing never stopped, and the love and laughter was everywhere. Thank you for a wonderful evening, Mary and Ben, and I can’t wait to watch your marriage grow :) now check out the highlights of their big day!!

  • Ocean Isle Beach House Wedding Photography | Alison & Matt

Matt and Alison are one of those couples who make you feel right at home. I knew when I met them for the first time (in a bar in downtown Pittsburg, filling our glasses with bottomless mimosas before their engagement session) that we would turn out to be friends. They made me feel like more of a guest than just one of the vendors at their beautiful beachside wedding. They invited me to come hang out with them at the beach house the day before the wedding too, specifically asking me to leave my camera at home. Nothing quite makes you feel like part of the family after spending an evening with everyone before the big day.

Alison and Matt had their ceremony on the beach in front of their giant beach house on Ocean Isle Beach, NC. This place was gorgeous. The perfect weather anyone could ever ask for in October, just two short weeks after Hurricane Matthew came through… talk about good timing. The reception that followed took place on the pool deck of the beach house, which provided for some of the most incredible first dance photos as the sun set over the water. Spending the day with them is nothing short of magical, the way these two just BEAM at each other, I swear I hardly even posed them for their photos, they’re just naturally so good together. I’m thankful to know Alison and Matt, and I think everyone who attended their wedding feels the exact same way. You guys deserve a lifetime of days as magical as this one.
