  • The Parker Mill Asheville Wedding Photographer | Blair & Matt

Since moving to North Carolina, I have consistently dreamed of getting to photograph a wedding in the mountains in Asheville. I absolutely chose to move to NC for the beach, but every chance I get to visit the mountains, it’s pretty magical. And the word magical is probably the only word I could use that will even come close to describing the wedding day of Blair and Matt. I’ve known Matt since pretty early on in my move to NC, he was in my very first friend group that I met here. I remember when he first started bringing Blair around, too, and I was completely impressed by her. What a perfect match, and what a perfect addition to our friend group. She fit in so easily, and was just a joy to be around. So when I found out as they left for a vacation together that Matt was going to propose, I couldn’t have been happier for the two of them! And when they came home and started wedding planning, and asked me to do the photos – not only because they loved my work but they wanted to support their friends and their businesses, I was over the moon! Not only do I get to be part of my friends special day, but I also get to do it in such a stunning and unique place! They chose The Parker Mill as their venue, which is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Everything went perfectly (except for one little glitch with my rental car that TRIED to prevent me from being there, but of course I wouldn’t allow that, and shout out to all the guys for starting a group text without Matt in it, trying to help me get to Asheville when I was nearly stranded in Tennessee…….. a long story that I will tell you when you’re older but my sister saved the day and got me there) and EVERY SINGLE DETAIL was my favorite. Blair has the best taste, the best style, I was just in awe. But the best part? THEIR LOVE WITH SO INTENSE. I mean, we all felt it. Matt couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. I’m so grateful that I was able to be there, able to document the day, and able to join them as a guest after I was done and dance the night away. So good being reunited with these friends, spending a weekend in Asheville together, and getting these two HITCHED! CONGRATS MATT AND BLAIR! I can’t wait to see what’s next for you two!

  • Ocean Isle Beach Wedding Photographer | Alli & Jesse

Words are hard to describe the incredible, fun, and just purely AMAZING day that was Alli and Jesse’s wedding day in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. I’ve been photographing weddings a long time now, but I will never get over the feeling I get when I leave a day like this one. These two were just OVERJOYED to be near each other, let alone make it official for the rest of their lives. The morning quite literally started out with a waterspout (which to me is just a fancy word for a tornado over the ocean) directly outside the beach house where they would be hosting their wedding just a few hours later, and then ended with the most stunning sunshine day, a beautiful sunset, and the most fun dance party. Not to mention, they even jumped into the pool in their wedding attire at the end of the reception, and then like 90% of their guests followed suit. I left wet, happy, and in awe. What an epic day. What an incredible couple. I’m so lucky to be just one small part of days like this one.

  • Kaminski House Museum Wedding Photographer | Ashley & James

This beautiful day was my first wedding at the Kaminski House Museum in Georgetown, South Carolina. When I tell you this place was the most dreamy southern charm-y waterfront venue, I MEAN IT. The big beautiful white house with a huge front porch, perfect for portraits, all sitting along the water, complete with a fountain and sunset views. I was in love! Ashley and James picked out the perfect spot to host their wedding day. These two were so sweet to work with, and my favorite part? They dressed their dogs up in wedding attire and I couldn’t stop taking photos of them! Every detail went off without a hitch, and of course, Ashley and James GOT HITCHED! HA! See what I did there!? Anyway. Check out some of my favorite images from their wedding day!!!

  • Brooklyn Arts Center Wedding Photographer | Amanda & Mikey

I have many favorite things about photographing weddings. One, getting to work in such beautiful historic venues like the Brooklyn Arts Center in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. It was one of the first venues in Wilmington that I worked in once I moved here, and it will remain one of my favorites as long as I live here. Another thing that I love is when my job brings me to weddings of friends of mine! I’ve known Amanda & Mikey for a couple years now, and I was BEYOND thrilled when they asked me to be part of their big day. Being trusted to capture someone’s wedding day is not something I take lightly, and it almost means MORE when friends want to hire you. It’s also like getting a back stage pass to a wedding. You get to be there for the getting ready moments before the day really starts, you get to spend more time with the couple than most people do on the wedding day. You get to see how all their planning came together and how each little detail falls into place. I am grateful for my job and getting to keep doing this each weekend, especially when it’s with amazing humans like Amanda & Mikey. I absolutely LOVED the way they decorated Brooklyn Arts Center, and they had SUCH a fun crowd dancing the entire night away. Now check out some highlights from their big day!!!

  • Magnolia Plantation & Gardens Charleston SC Wedding Photography | Brittany & Andrew

See the published article about this wedding on Wedding Wire HERE.

Brittany and Andrew are a sweet couple from New York, who traveled all the way to Charleston, South Carolina for their wedding. They got married with a small group of family and close friends at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, on a day that was originally a 100% chance of thunderstorms the entire day – and the rain gods were absolutely on our side when we woke up and it just remained perfectly cloudy all day long. This was my first chance to photograph a wedding in Charleston and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. Endless amounts of Spanish moss draped from the trees, and we were surrounded by stunning greenery and the Carriage House itself was sweet and stunning. I fell in love with their minimal decor including multiple chandeliers made of hanging greenery. These two did a first look underneath gigantic green and flowing trees, followed by a small ceremony behind the Carriage House. Their bridal party was a blast, and their family was so ecstatic about this union, they had clearly been an unofficial part of each others families for a long time now. Congrats to this wonderful pair, I wish you both endless years of happy marriage.

  • East Winds Saint Lucia Destination Wedding Photography | Carly & Josh

Sometimes I’m lucky enough to photograph a wedding for friends of mine. Sometimes I’m even luckier because those friends decide to get married in a tropical paradise in the Caribbean. But Carly and Josh are the luckiest of all, because not only did they find the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with, but they even had 40 of their closest friends and family join them all the way in Saint Lucia. Not everybody could get that many people to fly to another country for them, but that just shows you how much these two are loved. Destination weddings are such a magical thing, you get to spend a week laying on the beach, eating way too much food, washing it down with way too many drinks, and you kind of forget to stress over a wedding. East Winds Resort had deep sea fishing, horse back riding along the water, swim up bars, kayaking, paddle boarding, sail boats, pirate ship cruises, street festivals, dancing, late night pool dips, and sooooo much laughing. I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of this adventure with Carly and Josh, and I’m so happy to share some of the photos with you guys! Wishing you two all the happiness in the world!

  • Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Wedding | John Henry & Don

I recently traveled to Boston to photograph a wedding for a great friend from college, who was lucky enough to marry the love of his life. John Henry and Don tied the knot in July with a stunning view of the city over the water, at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor hotel. They said their I-Do’s as the sun went down over the skyline, and then danced the night away with all of their friends and family. One thing that sticks out to me the most from this wedding was the sweet words that Don’s mother spoke at their reception. Parents that are just so genuinely thrilled to see their kids happy, no matter the race or the sex or the circumstance, it’s an absolutely wonderful thing. You could see the genuine excitement in the entire room, especially between John Henry and Don. They literally couldn’t stop smiling or even dancing during our portrait time! I’m so happy I got the opportunity to be a part of their wedding day, and to get to visit Boston again. Love is a beautiful thing.

  • 128 South Downtown Wilmington Wedding Photography | Xan & Joe

I recently had the pleasure of tagging along with Xan and Joe on their wedding day in downtown Wilmington. They had their ceremony out on the back deck at 128 South, which gives a beautiful view of the Cape Fear River and a great view of the city. They had a delicious dinner inside the venue and then made their way out to the deck again to finish up the night with drinks and dancing. They had such a great group of friends and family members, they never left that dance floor the entire night. The decor was gorgeous, the music was great, and the bride looked absolutely stunning (she even did her own hair and makeup – seriously!!). I’m so happy that I get to work with such amazing clients that make me feel like just another one of the guests. Wishing these two a lifetime of happiness!

  • Grand Barn at the Mohicans Wedding Photography | Jenna & Kevin

Jenna and Kevin said “I do” this month in Glenmont, Ohio. They invited me all the way from North Carolina to photograph their wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier to be a part of their day. I’ve known Kevin for YEARS now, we were college buddies, and I actually didn’t even get the pleasure of meeting Jenna until the wedding day, although it didn’t feel that way at all. These two got married at the Mohicans in the Grand Barn Wedding Center. They decorated the place with soft and natural greenery, with pops of white and gold. Their florist decorated the most gorgeous arch for their ceremony, complete with hanging terrariums with succulents and candles inside. The bridesmaid dresses were a nice soft neutral color which paired so nicely with Jenna’s beautiful dress, and Kevin even sprung for this incredible dark green suit – so cool! They had big Edison bulbs lighting their ceremony and reception outdoors on the patio, which made for some of the dreamiest dancing photos. Honestly some of my very favorite first dance photos EVER. We were also able to wander around the woods and hang out at tree houses, which I absolutely loved. They danced, they laughed, they had their siblings and parents make the most perfect speeches – mostly about Kevin taking his shirt off at family functions. I love getting to come hang out with old friends on such an important day, and I love it even more when I get to see how happy they are. Jenna and Kevin, you two are amazing, and I can’t wait to wish you a happy anniversary for years and years and years to come. Now go look at some of these gorgeous pictures!!!

  • Brooklyn Arts Center Wedding Photography | Jordan & Bo

Sometimes you get lucky and you move to a new state and you don’t know a single person and you end up making friends with your photography clients. Sometimes you REALLY luck out and they turn into some of your best friends. That’s what happened with Jordan and Bo. These two are so fun and lighthearted and just an absolute blast to be around. Their love story is sweet, their relationship is so calm and trusting and comfortable, and I really believe they were meant to find each other in this crazy world.

We spent the day laughing and singing and, okay, maybe sweating a little. Their wedding was held at the Brooklyn Arts Center in downtown Wilmington, in the big beautiful brick building with the tallest ceilings and the most gorgeous architecture. They decorated it and made it their own space, with sweet pops of summer colors. I really love photographing weddings for your close friends, because it doesn’t feel like I’m working at all. I had strict instructions to put my camera away at one point, and I even remember snapping a few after I was done (because I can’t help it and I’m addicted to my camera) and Jordan yelling at me to go get a drink instead. If that doesn’t make you feel right at home, then I don’t know what does! Thank you to both of you for having me capture these memories for years and years to come, I can’t wait to watch you two grow together.

Life is ever changing but I will always
find a constant and comfort in your love
With your heart my soul is bound
And as we dance I know that heaven can be found
