  • Slate & Cypress Wedding Photographer | Jennifer & Zach

I had the pleasure of photographing Jennifer & Zach’s gorgeous March wedding at Slate & Cypress in Calabash, North Carolina. These two were just such a joy to work with, and their bridal party was the most fun and supportive and energetic group EVER. Jennifer and Zach also added on my 35mm film package which just so happens to be my absolute favorite thing, and I am beyond thrilled with how all of the film images turned out. I love getting to work at Slate & Cypress because this venue is already so stunning on it’s own, but the owners are always working so hard to constantly improve it, so there’s always something new and exciting to utilize for photos every time I’m there! This time, a brand new arbor was set up for ceremonies, and they’re working on growing tons of new greenery after winter is finally ending, so it’s just going to keep getting EVEN prettier! I think my favorite thing about this day other than how amazing everyone was to work with, was definitely Jenn’s dress. I mean, those sleeves, are you kidding me??? Literally so stunning. Now, check out some highlights from their beautiful day!

  • Malachi Meadows Wedding Photographer | Amanda & Cameron

On a vividly chilly weekend in Wilmington, North Carolina, it actually got cold enough to frost outside! So cold that it froze the fountain in front of Malachi Meadows, which I had never seen before! It really made for such a funny story, and I will forever laugh when I think about us standing outside in the cold, trying to take photos while the poor bridal party froze their booties off, all of us screaming and laughing together because that kind of cold is so uncommon here. It didn’t stop us from having the best time ever, of course. My two favorite parts of the wedding were Amanda and Cameron’s DOGS!!!! They hung out with us all day and were quite the source of entertainment, including Malakai crying for the entire ceremony. SO CUTE. These two are absolutely my kind of people, to the point where I was actually so sad to say goodbye at the end of the night. If I could copy + paste them, and get to work with them every single weekend, I would. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day, and I can’t wait until I get to see you guys again!!!

  • City Club at Gibson Mill Wedding Photographer | Melanie & Tyler

I started off the 2024 wedding season by leaving Wilmington and driving over to the Charlotte area (okay… Charlotte adjacent) for Melanie and Tyler’s wedding! These two not only planned and DIY’ed basically everything themselves (amazing) but they also included their 16 year old dog, Rudy in their ceremony and their first dance! Not only do I love when people include their dog and allow me to befriend them and pet them all day, I think it’s even more special when they’re a senior pup. It made me so happy! Melanie and Tyler even hosted an after party at a local brewery next door to the venue which was one of my favorite parts, a great spot to unwind after the chaos of a wedding day and enjoy some cold craft beers! Congratulations to these two, and thank you for starting out my season!!

  • Best of 2023 | Wilmington NC Wedding Photographer

And somehow, the 2023 season has come to an end! What a YEAR. One of my busiest ever, but such an overall success, despite a lot of ups and downs. Owning a business isn’t always a walk in the park, but there is so much beauty in getting to create for a living. I’ve been an artist for a majority of my life, and it’s wild to think about how I got here. From developing my photo prints by hand in a darkroom for 4 years in college to now running a full time photography business. I’m grateful for this life, this job, and my clients. I love putting together a highlight every year to show off some of my absolute favorite images, and this year is no exception! Cheers to 2023! Thank you to every single one of you who has been involved in any way. I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!

  • The Elia Wedding Photographer | Alaina & Tyler

The Elia is my absolute new favorite venue. Located in Downtown Wilmington, walkable to the river, with a big, open, well-lit space, full of charm and easily moldable into whatever vision you have for your wedding day! I absolutely love it. When Alaina & Tyler found out they had to move their wedding to a new location last minute, they were able to find The Elia and it was an absolute lifesaver! We wandered downtown with their bridal party, we got photos with their CUTE pup, and we had the best day ever. A New Years Eve wedding is always a blast – literally what is better than celebrating two people you love and having an open bar event on a holiday!? A dream. Now, I knew that Alaina had great taste and great style, and I knew that she would come up with some awesome ideas for her wedding. BUT, I was still completely blown away when I arrived that day. The vibrant colors, the blue velvet tablecloths, the bright flowers, the colorful bridesmaid dresses, I even told Tyler that I wouldn’t be surprised if I showed up and she was wearing a neon colored wedding dress. LOL. I couldn’t have chosen better details myself, and I was ecstatic at the opportunity to document this day for them. I had such a great time with Alaina and Tyler and their crew (and of course, Ollie). Can every wedding be like this one????

  • Airlie Gardens Elopement Photographer | Jessica & John

Airlie Gardens is one of the most stunning places in Wilmington, I swear. So any chance I get to work there, I will jump on it! But there was just something about my initial inquiry from Jessica that stood out to me. She had chosen the day of winter solstice for her wedding because it was special to her, and when I arrived, and saw the way that she and John looked at each other, I knew that they were special too. I can’t describe it other than a certain feeling that I get when I’m around a couple, and these two just HAD it. Their love was so big! It was so sweet to be a part of this day, and I had the best experience with Jessica and John. Thankful for clients like these two, and thankful for gorgeous days like this one in Wilmington in December.

  • Highgrove Estate Wedding Photographer | Billy-Gray & Oakley

This was my first time at the venue Highgrove Estate in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and just… wow. We ended up having the stormiest, most aggressively rainy day ever, and I was so happy we were at this venue that Billy-Gray and Oakley had chosen for their wedding day. The main house is just a big gorgeous southern home, with pretty fireplaces and charming decor, with multiple rooms to use with big windows and pretty chandeliers. These two were just so happy to be getting married to each other they didn’t make a single comment or complaint about the weather, and to me that says everything. We had such a good day with dinner, dancing, friends, and family. And I couldn’t write this blog post without commenting on how CREATIVE and AMAZING Billy-Gray is. She quite literally made her own wedding dress. She made a lot of the decor and details herself. I love artists because I KNOW they will put together something beautiful, and Billy-Gray did absolutely that. Grateful for clients like these two, and I’m so lucky I got to be there for their big day! Congratulations you guys!!

  • Warehouse on Water Wedding Photographer | Felicia & Andy

I am slowly but surely blogging my way through the final weddings of 2023, only a couple more to go! Warehouse on Water in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina is just a GREAT fall/winter venue. It’s got those big old warehouse vibes with classic brick walls and industrial flooring, which you can dress up or dress down for the occasion. It looks so good in there with even minimal decor, no wonder it’s so popular! Felicia and Andy chose this for their wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier to be back with these two! They sure know how to throw a party, and even for a Monday wedding, the party did not stop until the last song of the night. I had such a good time with them, but for some reason my absolute favorite part was during cocktail hour, I got to wander downtown with Felicia and Andy and their bridal party. We stopped at the bar that Felicia has worked in for the last decade, we shopped at Gourmet Market, we stopped at some Christmas lights. It was a blast. Now check out some highlights from their big day!

  • Brooklyn Arts Center Wedding Photographer | Jessie & Alex

The Brooklyn Arts Center is located in Downtown Wilmington, and has two different options to book. For larger sized weddings, the main church is the perfect choice. For smaller sized weddings, the Annex is a dreeeeam, and that is exactly what Jessie and Alex chose for their big day. Another perk? It rained nearly the entire day for their wedding, but we had no shortage of pretty indoor areas to take photos in at the Annex, so choosing a venue with great indoor options is always a good idea in case of poor weather outside! No matter what the season, it will forever be unpredictable weather in Wilmington, so back up plans are huge. This may have been the year that it’s rained the MOST on wedding days in my entire career – so I’ve really utilized the indoor space of venues lately!!

These two had an incredible team of vendors, who all came together to set up this stunning day. But my favorite part? I just LOVE the dance party that ensues every time someone hires a wedding band, and that’s exactly how this day went. So much fun, so much laughter, so much dancing. A new trend that I’ve had a lot this year is that the bride and groom stay at the very end when everyone heads outside for a sparkler exit, and they have a private last dance just themselves. This was the cutest private last dance I’ve ever witnessed. They pure JOY radiating out of Alex and Jessie as they realized THEY DID IT – it was so genuine. I’m so obsessed with their love for each other.

  • Ironclad Brewery Wedding Photographer | Jamie & Bryce

The 2023 season is getting closer to coming to an end and I’m wrapping up the year with some amazing winter weddings. Jamie and Bryce got married in November at Ironclad Brewery in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. I used to bartend at Ironclad for 3 years when I was still growing my photography business to full time, so every chance that I get to come back here is always so much fun. I know this building so deeply, after spending so much time there, and I have so many favorite locations outside of it for photos! We had a gorgeous day for Jamie and Bryce, beautiful fall weather, a perfect sunset and the perfect rooftop view to see it. I loved the moody details and table decor, the pretty florals, and of course, HOW STUNNNNNING was Jamie!? Magic. Followed by the most fun dance party. 10/10 would attend another party hosted by these two.
