  • 128 South Wedding Photographers | Jamison & Andy

128 South is a gorgeous event venue located right in the heart of historic downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. It has a great indoor space for dinner, and an outdoor patio that faces the river for both ceremony, and reception. They have in-house catering which, if I do say so myself, is one of the best. And I eat a lot of wedding food! So I was VERY happy when Jamison and Andy chose 128 South for their wedding day, and hired me to go along with it! I met these two out at Carolina Beach on a beautiful evening for engagement photos at sunset with the ocean. I knew immediately these two were my vibe – maybe it was their adorable dogs, maybe it was the way these two were just overjoyed to marry each other. That feeling didn’t go away when it came to wedding day – their smiles were literally SO BIG Andy kept asking me if he was smiling too big, and in my opinion? There’s no such thing. When your new wife makes you smile that big, I think you did something right. These two were so easy to work with and so much fun, and they planned the most beautiful day. So lucky to get to work with couples like Andy and Jamison, and so excited to see what comes next in their love story!

  • Masonboro Island & The Elia Wedding Photographers | Colleen & Clay

Colleen and Clay decided to have a private wedding ceremony out on Masonboro Island, a few days before their full sized wedding reception held at The Elia, in downtown Wilmington, NC. This was so much fun to be able to be there for both days, you really get to know the couple, their closest friends and family, and it was a blast both days. The island ceremony was small, sunny, and so beautiful. We all boated out to Masonboro and witnessed them telling each other “I do.” Then a couple days later, they had a wedding reception downtown and danced the night away. I loved their decor, their dance party, and their entire vibe. This is my kind of wedding!!!! Yes, I am accepting ALL island weddings. Always. Congrats Colleen and Clay!!!!! I’m so happy for you guys!

  • The Isles Beach Club Wedding Photographer | Meghan & Branden

Meg and Branden chose The Isles Beach Club in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina for their wedding day. I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous day for them, and we ended up with a nice cloudy and warm day in October for a beach wedding. Summer beach wedding days can be brutal in the heat, so October is a MUCH more pleasant time of year. The cloud coverage helped us achieve some ideal lighting and nice calm weather after a very stormy September. A couple deer showed up for the wedding ceremony, which I had never seen happen at the beach, before! It was so cute! I loved the vintage wedding cake and the funky bright colored candles on the tables at the reception, and oooooh the dance party. These people had me scream-singing with them all night long. I loved this day, and this couple was just so much fun. Now check out some highlights from their day!

  • Wrightsville Manor Wedding Photographers | Morgan & Connor

Morgan and Connor chose the gorggggggg Wrightsville Manor for their wedding on an absolutely perfect sunny day in October. Wrightsville Manor is known for its beautiful greenery and my favorite: the giant oak tree to have your ceremony under. The indoor area has crisp white walls, lots of natural light, and is the perfect blank canvas to add your own personal touch to make it your own. I think one of my favorite parts of their decor was their florals, they were the best fall colors with tons of texture, it went SO WELL with the location, and the bridesmaid dresses! Morgan and Connor are full of life and energy and they were SO EXCITED to marry each other, it was pure joy to be around them. I looooove how they brought their dogs to walk down the aisle too (and kept trying to play with me during the ceremony LOL), so naturally we included them in a bunch of our portraits too. And then there was the dance party. I can’t even describe it, it was so energetic and fun all night long. Talk about a group of friends/family to hype you up – every single person got out on the dance floor and they danced until the lights came on at the end of the night. Something they did differently than other weddings that I LOVED was instead of doing a bouquet and garter toss, they had t-shirts that they tossed out to their guests instead! Some of the bridesmaids wore them all night over their dresses and it was so fun! Moral of the story: be like Morgan and Connor. Their smiles are contagious and their love was so easy to capture on camera. Now go look at all my favorite photos from the day!

  • Carolina Home and Garden Wedding Photographers | Macy & Matt

Okay, I have to admit. Carolina Home and Garden may just be my top favorite wedding venue of literally all time. It’s located in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, about a 2 hour drive from Wilmington along the Crystal Coast. It’s actually a garden shop that you can hang out in during normal business hours, a bar to enjoy some beverages in, and it has the most greenery of any venue I’ve ever seen. The reception space is just an entire room of plants, their greenhouse is another room covered in plants from floor to ceiling, literally a photographer’s dream. And to top it all off, I got to photograph the wedding of one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Macy and Matt are just a pure joy to be around, but the best part was how IN LOVE they are. The words their family and friends spoke about them during the speeches were so touching, the vibes were immaculate, and the dance party, I mean don’t even get me started on the dance party. They hired probably one of my favorite wedding bands I’ve worked with a few times now, and I can’t recommend them enough, they’re called The Finns, and it was SO much fun. I love a wedding band because it feels like we’re all enjoying a concert together for the reception, and they played the BEST songs, and so many fun throwbacks like Blink 182 (a favorite) and my mans Harry Styles and just, a blast. My biggest core memory from the day was when it started just totally down pouring on their outdoor reception – and no one ran away for cover, everyone just embraced it with open arms, they are some of my favorite photos from the day. I wish I could relive this wedding over and over. So grateful to have been a part of it. CONGRATS MACY AND MATT! Cannot wait to watch your love story unfold.

  • Carolina Beach Wedding Photographer | Crystal & Jared

Crystal and Jared elopement on a GORGEOUS September afternoon on a bright, warm, and sunny Carolina Beach in North Carolina. The crazy part was that Wilmington had just been hit by a tropical storm earlier in the week, and Carolina Beach experienced insane flooding, ruining a few local businesses and homes. But just a couple days later, the water went down, the damage was being repaired, and we were still able to celebrate these two. They chose to elope with only their immediate family and their closest of friends, and I LOVE a wedding day like that. It’s calm, quiet, and relaxing. You get to spend the day with your closest people, and you don’t have to put on a show. You just get to celebrate your love. So CONGRATS to Crytal and Jared! I’m so happy I was able to be part of your day.

  • 801 Ocean Wedding Photographers | Sarah & Michael

Sarah and Michael got married on the beach in Oak Island on a warm and cloudy day in September. They had their ceremony facing the ocean, as the tide pools showed up and surrounded them as they said their vows, followed by a reception inside at the venue 801 Ocean. As a full time wedding photographer, Iโ€™ve always believed that love can shine through any weather, and honestly all you can do is embrace the unpredictability of the skies and, well, life. It’s all about your attitude – and Sarah and Michael continued with their outdoor ceremony as planned, with huge smiles on their faces, even though we all got a little wet. It was totally worth it. After dinner, we walked back out to the water for some sunset portraits. Just as we found the ideal spot overlooking the ocean, the skies opened up. What started as a light drizzle quickly escalated into a full-on downpour. The whole reception watched us sprint back to the venue but it was too late – we were totally soaked. Honestly, some of my favorite photos and my absolute favorite moments from their day will be from those few minutes of running through the rain. Sometimes the best moments come when you least expect them. Congrats to this wonderful couple, and of course, keep scrolling to see my FAVORITE thing: the 35mm film photos!

  • Ironclad Brewery Wedding Photographers | Ashley & Jill

Ashley and Jill chose the gorgeous Ironclad Brewery for their wedding, because of their love for local craft breweries. Even their dog is named Brew, and he helped out with SO much of the planning, it even incorporated into the theme of their day – “Me, you, and Brew”. They even had a custom tap handle made for pouring the beers, which was one of my favorite details from the whole day. Ashley and Jill, not only are they just the kindest people in the world, but they were so much fun to be around, I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard on a wedding day. By the time I left, I felt like I was part of the family, and I’m so grateful for that. I loved every detail, every human pyramid (yes, they even had me do one with them and I included those photos at the very end because they are HILARIOUS), every sweet moment, and most of all, how absolutely head over heels these two are for each other. You could tell by the way they could not stop crying during the ceremony – it was so heartwarming. I am forever obsessed with these two and I wish we could do this every single weekend.

  • 128 South Wedding Photographers | Lindsay & Cooper

Okay so let me just start out by saying I could write a novel about how amazing it was to work with Lindsay and Cooper. First of all, they picked one of my favorite venues – 128 South in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. Its proximity to the river and outdoor patio are two of my favorite things about 128 South, let alone the most incredible staff. But when you add in a couple like Lindsay and Cooper, it makes it about 100 times more wonderful. These two are the sweetest humans I’ve ever come in contact with. One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is listening to the toasts or speeches that their parents or closest friends make during dinner time, and the things these people had to say about Lindsay and Cooper were so moving. They are SO LOVED and adored by their people, I think that speaks volumes about them. Not only that, but when Lindsay walked down the aisle to an Andrew McMahon song, I knew these were my kinda people! Turns out, they are close family friends with Andrew McMahon and if you don’t know who that is, you’re wrong (Jack’s Mannequin, Something Corporate, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness). After dinner, they had the most fun reception where everyone did not stop dancing until the very end! I had the absolute best time, and I’m actually so sad that it’s over. Can we do a round two?????

    Congratulations to Lindsay and Cooper!!!!!

  • District Winery, Washington DC Wedding Photographer | Jackie & Beecher

This was my very first time traveling to Washington, DC. And I literally couldn’t think of a better reason to go. Jackie and Beecher found me online while they were planning their wedding day, and decided I was the right fit to bring to DC with them for their day! First of all, what a huge compliment that is. Second of all, I’m so glad they did, because they were two of the best people I could have asked to work with. Not only were they kind and sweet and down to earth, but they also designed the most gorgeous wedding that I was literally giddy to photograph. DC itself was stunning, but the Navy Yard where the wedding took place was SO unique. Water views, dogs everywhere, city scapes, cool bridges, I had no shortage of epic locations for photos. And then the venue itself, District Winery, was quite literally a dream. They transformed it with vivid pink flowers and something around 75 disco balls on the ceiling, I was in photo heaven. Grateful for opportunities like this one that let me travel to cool places, and work with the absolute best people. Thank you for having me, Jackie and Beecher, you sure throw one heck of a party! Can’t wait to see what you two do next!
