It’s safe to say I am very behind on my blogging game. Rachel & Dity eloped INCREDIBLY SECRETLY back in February – and I mean it when I say secretly. They only invited their immediate families. And they didn’t tell a single other soul. I’m talking – so private that when they first reached out about booking me, they quite literally did not even tell me it was for a wedding day. LOL. I’ve been friends with Rachel for quite awhile, we met because we both lived at my very first apartment complex in Wilmington (that I lived in back in 2016!) and we had some mutual friends! (Shout out to Taylor & Brittany! Whose wedding I also did…. whose wedding was ALSO a secret. I’m sensing a trend here) So when they finally admitted to me that the “photo shoot” was actually a top secret elopement – I was SOLD. I love being able to be in on these huge secrets. It’s thrilling and I love when my friends find love… so. It was a heck yes from me! Rachel and Dity had a tiny little official ceremony at the courthouse in downtown Wilmington, NC, followed by us frolicking around on a freakishly cold and windy day for portraits. Do you know what I love about these two? Normally, people would be complaining the entire time during these photos. They would be whining about the wind and how their hair is going to look and when they get the photos back they’re going to be grumpy that their hair wasn’t perfectly in place in every photo. You know what Rachel & Dity did? They embraced it and they said they actually don’t even care about the wind blown photos because that was real and that was exactly what the day was like. Some of their favorite photos are some that I debated even sending to them because they were SO WINDY, but they just loved them anyway. EVERYONE should be more like Rachel & Dity. Focusing on the fact that they were getting married that day and that was what mattered – not perfect hair. We ended the evening at The Vine – a beautiful restaurant downtown, where they rented out the place for just the fam, and they spent the evening laughing, storytelling, eating delicious food, and having great drinks. Thank you guys for letting me be involved in this special moment in your lives, and I’m so so so so so so happy for you!!!
